Create a way that would enable mobile users to recieve push notifications if their runtime server has not communicated to WIN-911s cloud notification servers after some period. If the watchdog tag is utilized, this feature would allow complete end-to-end monitoring of WIN-911 source runtimes, the secure Mobile Hub, and local connections to the push notification servers. I have developed some of my own tools to support something similar using heartbeat and heartbeat suspensions, but in my case, an SMTP message is sent via another server if the heartbeat stops functioning or is suspended by WIN-911. Leveraging the WIN-911 cloud services would enhance these tools as it would enable us to scrap the use of some PowerShell scripts and avoid these additional dependencies with ISPs and local server resouces. Additionally, this feature would allow users to know when their WIN-911 mobile app is not functioning properly. It would be good if there was a convienent way to determine end-to-end functionality of the entire system from SCADA to iPhone.
Good to hear. A few questions:
What happens if there's no internet? Can a text be sent for an implementation that uses a POTS line as a secondary means of call-out? This is a key capability to provide a fully robust solution.
Hello,
Thank you for the feature suggestion. We will be implementing it with the next release of WIN-911 2021, which is planned for the end of July.
Users will receive a push notification on their mobile device if their WIN-911 system has been disconnected from the cloud for 10 minutes.

Great idea, MR Systems (Eddie Noyes) built a custom solution for ReWa that does a great job pro-actively monitoring. Recently we discovered one gap is when the Mobile Hub is unavailable this monitoring system does not account for this. Would welcome the opportunity to engage with WIN-911 Product Development to collaborate on build of this capability.
