The Multitech Modems are simply awful. There are many better options of Cellular Modem Technology like Microhard, but there are also many others. Also Many facilities already use Cellular Modems for Data that could be utilized for texting purposes. Multitech Modems do not allow for concurrent data and texting usage like most other Modems do.
microhard modems are the main one I use, they have the ability to telnet sms messages while being a data modem as well.
Yes I think a subscription service would be good as long as you can reply through it for acknowledgement as well.
It would depend on the client though, say they already have a data modem, I'd rather you support texting through that modem rather then add a multitech, but I guess I'd rather setup a texting subscription then buy a multitech and setup a texting phone plan. So working on both would be beneficial

Thanks for taking the time to submit feedback.
WIN-911 communicates directly to the radio module which is why the other features of the modem are unavailable.
We're currently adding support for the Sierra Wireless RV-50X and will communicate on the OS level so the other features of the modem will be available.
Other than Microhard, are there any other modems you'd like us to take a look at?
We're also considering adding a subscription SMS service that does not require a cellular modem, rather SMS messages would be sent through any internet connection. Would this be something you'd be interested in?
