Hi SmartSights team,
Thank you for the response. To help complete this SQL datasource request, I'd like to recommend that SmartSights create an article covering the full setup to ingest data from a SQL database using the Kepware ODBC Client driver and then alarm on it in WIN-911. Suggested outline:
Create the ODBC DSN for the SQL database on the KEPServerEX machine
Add an ODBC Client channel and device in KEPServerEX, and generate tags from tables, queries, or stored procedures
Verify tag quality in the OPC Quick Client
Connect the WIN-911 OPC DA Data Source to KEPServerEX and create alarms
Kepware resources for the ODBC Client driver:
ODBC Client Driver manual (PDF, from Kepware/PTC): https://ptc-p-001.sitecorecontenthub.cloud/api/public/content/bbd5dd89e1fe456ba710e9912497459f?v=20d46369&_gl=11pt1x4_gcl_auMTI3OTIxNjI5Ny4xNzYwNTQzNTQ2_gaMjA0NDAzODU5NC4xNzM2ODcwMzE0_ga_7NMP2MSYPM*czE3NjQ2OTEyNzUkbzk5JGcxJHQxNzY0NzAyOTczJGo1NSRsMCRoMA..
When using an OPC server like Kepware's KepServer, you can pull data in from PLCs and SQL servers. You can then use our OPC DA Data Source to connect to the server and create alarms in WIN-911.

Thanks for considering it. I think many WIN-911 users would find this useful.

Did the Kepware (or another) OPC interface provide a solution to this?
Hello,
When using an OPC server like Kepware's KepServer, you can pull data in from PLCs and SQL servers. You can then use our OPC DA Data Source to connect to the server and create alarms in WIN-911.
I hope that helps.
